Right on Clear Lake. I called ahead & asked if pool open & clean? Yes and when I arrived I was told pool cleaned that morning. It was a hot day & pool was clean & fantastic! Nice room, bed & bathroom.
This place was perfect for my needs. Inexpensive, clean, conveniently located to where I needed to go. Staff was great and very attentive. There was always someone available and promptly attended to any needs. It's right on the lake and the view from the parking lot can be pretty breathtaking in the morning after a rain, just as the sun is peeking out over the lake.
You know, I always love staying at the Lamplighter Inn in Clear Lake! The staff is friendly, the view is to die for, and the vibe is decidedly Clear Lake in all its charming, hillbilly glory! Good times, y'all! It's like a John Waters movie whisked off to wistful Lake County, where the looming threat of Mount Konocti volcano towers over the catfish graveyard-laden lake. The cities transport you to bygone centuries via the unpaved and treacherous, sinkhole-riddled thoroughfares, darting through Clearlake proper and encouraging locals to ignore the stop signs and barrel on up the next hill to get to the beer at Park View Market before they close. We always pick the Lamplighter because not only does it have the most dazzling view (far superior to the overpriced Best Western, the strangely appointed Travelodge, and the somber Sonesta), but the people-watching and true immersion with the charming and kooky locals are features that truly brighten it over the competition. I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended it to three nights. And yes, the raucous, rollicking rendezvous with rough trade are indeed repeatedly and readily relevant – an added bonus!
A friend booked me a room, for the night, as a gift. The room was great. The view was A.W.E.S.O.M.E. The sweet gal, who cleans the rooms, was very helpful (and the room was clean). So, I give her a 5 star rating.
